Once remotely connected to my virtual machine, “this side Tracy” attempted to view my browser history to no avail, even going as far as to ask what browser I was using, and opened msinfo32 before asking me to purchase Norton directly on their website.
- She then used the System Configuration tool to falsely claim my system was too “damaged” to run antivirus software, then proceeded to hang up on the grounds that they were getting a “technician.”
- After a while, I proceeded to call “this side Tracy” back, and she hung up after asking for my name. I immediately called back only to receive an “extension is unavailable” error.
The toll-free number is also listed on https://printgetwebav.com/, which falsely claims to operate from the Landy hotel in Orlando, Florida. The scammers also use (833) 944-0841, which is carried via Telnyx.
