“Marty” told me to call the billing dept. at 877-294-5265 and that clown took me to “Norton Support” for a “verification code”
Nuwave Resp. Org. number, callers are asked to press 1 for auto-renewals or pricing assistance or press 2 for technical support.
While the number appears to be operated by Norton according to their BBB listing, which claims to operate from a Target in Tampa, Florida, user reports on 800Notes indicate that it may be operated out of an Indian scam call center who will claim that you need to renew their service for a high fee or receive your refund in the form of a wire transfer to your bank.
Numlookup shows this number is real Norton LifeLock.
Not sure if this verified.
It may be a legit Norton number, but the user reports appear to say otherwise. It is also worth pointing out that when I dialed this particular number, all of the employees I spoke to had some sorta Indian accent.
called twice and got a girl and a guy with Pilipino accent… interesting.
This is 100% one of the dozens of genuine Norton numbers
I personally have never used Norton in my life. I have used Avast for a while, but I just end up going back to only using Windows Defender to get the job done.
Ditto to the tee Goody!!
The amount of real numbers out there for genuine companies is immense
There are many numbers for McAfee, PayPal and Microsoft, despite having usually one official number listed on their websites
The largest inexplicable amount of numbers of any company I can attest to having is by far and away Inuit Quickbooks
I currently have 670 numbers they have which are without question genuine Intuit, having the same menu, or slight variations of the exact same menu
There are almost 200 Quickbooks scam numbers I know are active every day
They all still turn up from time to time during new real estate area searches
Can confirm that Norton does offshore support from the Philippines via a few BPO companies
Their website looks like a scam, but it may be legit
Seems genuine but outsourced abroad.
John, who real name is Javaid is definitely Indian. So it maybe is real but spoofed
@OfclyGoodenough could you go in with a virtual machine
As the number appears to be legitimate, I am gonna opt against that.
That’s fine, but I’ll try with my regular old man bait and see if I can seek any info
This particular one on the phone is a scammer, has me look through my credit card
It could be one of those companies that could be doing some legitimate work but also running scam processes on the side or when they see an opportunity
