The scammer answers but hangs up quickly, so I was unable to get much info (only that they are “Norton”).
The scammer claimed your computer came with a Norton subscription pre-installed, prompting you to “cancel the auto-renewal” by “opening the Google Chrome” and going to az.l24.help (Code: 25425 IP: 45.148.244.78 ).
Once they remotely connected to my virtual machine, dubbed as “connecting to the Norton Security System,” they will blank my screen with a fake software update and ask me to change my computer password before attempting to log into Bank of America.
I was then asked to hang up the call so I can receive a call from his “refund manager, Javier” on his TextNow line (707) 851-1299 before having me fill out a “cancellation form” and log into my nonexistent bank account. Since I do not do online banking, I was asked to register for one.
I then told “Javier” that my fake bank was strictly in-person with no website. They then blanked my screen and asked me to spell out my fake bank so they can log into it anyways, so I reset my virtual machine and was asked to call the Onvoy number (213) 932-5395 for a new password.
