HIGHLIGHTS FROM VIRTUAL MACHINE BAIT:
- The scammer answers as “Norton Suppoat” and falsely claims your “third party security plan” was activated, prompting you to “cancel” by “appointing a technician” via AnyDesk (ID: 479932473 “USER,” Password: as123456)
- Once the “technician, Sam Williams” remotely connected to my virtual machine, I was asked to write down the cancellation ID (cp987096) and log into my nonexistent bank account. Since I don’t do online banking, I was asked to throw my computer out the window.
