As a current job seeker my resume and contact information is on Indeed with the request of WFH positions. I received an email from Brittany Silver saying she has found my resume on indeed and I’m a great candidate for Graphic Design position at Noom Inc. instructions in the email redirect an interview process to start via Telegram - which I didn’t think was a red flag at the time since it’s a remote position. I thought it would be a call but it was all via text. I text this David Ortis via Telegram and I become somewhat reluctant but also interested since you know, technology. He begins to ask really basic interview questions and doesn’t show much interest or adds any personality or character to his responses. He immediately jumps into asking me what my prefect for Direct deposit was and then asks what bank I use. I immediately ask him to verify that he works for the company and he goes silent. I have contacted customer support to verify these names since I could not verify identification. I’ve tried calling David Ortis at (+1 917-765-3170) but no response. I have already submitted a ticket to Noom Inc. so hopefully they catch on and are aware of this.
This happened to me too!!
I also had to add him on Telegram (yesterday) and he sent me a $3500 check, which supposedly will clear tomorrow. He asked me if I could pay with my money and then they will reimburse me the money, but I said I couldn't do it at the moment. I will do as you and ask him to verify his authenticity.
I'm glad I did the research on him and found this page and post!
I'll keep you posted!

I did the same! I searched and found nothing but I’m happy to put this Information out there so others can avoid getting scammed. If you ask “David Ortis” any verification questions he will block you and the Noom profile pic disappears. I also looked up Bethany Silver and David Ortis and neither pop up for Noom Inc. in Linked In. Give me an update if you’re blocked!
I had much the same experience recently with David Ortis and Noom at 917-765-3170. The original contact came from Michelle Donnah at [email protected] - I should have looked more closely at the email address to see it was a gmail before I engaged so that was my stupidity.
When I would not agree to print a copy of a check and direct deposit it from a printout he stopped replying. I had already found this thread by then and was wise to the game but these people are very savvy. Awful.
