On November 21, 2024, police in Noida, India conducted a raid against an illegal call center operating out of Sector 117 for facilitating a Microsoft technical support scam operation that involved generating fake virus popups and remotely connecting to their victims computer. 11 individuals were arrested under BNS Sections 3(5), 318(4), 316(2) and 317(5), as well as section 55 of the IT Act:
