Newbie Scambaiting advice

I would like some advice on protecting my personal information (IP) while scambaiting the tech scammers. I have installed VirtualBox and Windows in it. Can the IP or other information on Virtual machine be tracked to my IP or location?

Thanks.

VPN

I recommend using FireRTC to call them, it calls them for free and it changes your phone number everything you call someone

I really appreciate the information. I am using FireRtc for calling these low life and has been working great. I did try my first scambaiting last night and it went well though I got caught in my very first attempt as they went through my browsing history and found scambaiting videos in it :P.
I was more concerned of them tracking my IP or MAC while scambaiting, but the VPN solution should take care of that now :). MAC can be changed on the virtual box by going in the settings.

Can they really get to know my IP on a virtual machine? I tried using ipconfig and it does not show the IP my host machine is using. So I was under the impression that they would not be able to track me. @Markiemm#36200 Do you think there are other reasons for using VPN ?

@Markiemm#36239 Thanks a lot. I will use VPN for my next scambait then.

I also want to know if FireRtc can be used for conferencing the calls. I really want to put 2 scammers against each other.

If you would like to keep your IP safe, use a VPN. However if you don’t use a VPN, the most information they really can get is the town you live in.

For a phone, use free VOIP services such as FireRTC.
