I went to check my Hotmail account through the Safari browser on my phone. I misspelled the URL and it went to a page claiming to be iPhone support. The message reads “Contact Support: Your iPhone has been locked due to detected illegal activity. Your apple id has been disabled!” It has some code to auto dial the number (one you listed above) but the outgoing call was blocked. I called and after speaking with me for a few seconds then said hold on and then immediately called me back. They claimed that my phone had been hacked and my apple ID was suspended until they could fix it. They tried to then get me to download Zoom and connect with them, claiming that Zoom is an Apple product used by their support. I didn’t want to download the software and after a few minutes of me questioning them they hung up. I don’t know if it is technically possible, but it would be cool to see what the scammers try to do with Zoom on the iPhone.

Could be a iPhone version of SYSKEY. Don’t install Zoom.

I doubt it’s ransomware, as iphones are pretty resillient to currently public software. Seems to be a video conferencing app for group calls. I’ll speculate that the scam continues with a zoom call, then a, “you have wairuses on your IP pay us 8 million dollarz plz”
