New Guidelines for Approving/Denying Numbers on Scammer.info
Core Rules
-
All posts entering review require a minimum 2-hour wait before approval or denial. No automatic actions—manual review only.
-
Add staff-only details to numbers via whispers or staff notes; visible exclusively to the moderation team.
-
Only the moderation team views denial/rejection reasons—discuss in staff PMs or mod category.
-
Moderators: Do not approve posts before the 2-hour mark!
-
Posts can be set aside (deferred or moved to staff-hold category) until a staff member approves posting.
-
All staff must be aware of numbers being set aside for investigation.
Follow these rules strictly for quality control.
Post Routing and Tags
-
New posts have no routing tags by default.
-
Routing tags available to all for requesting probing/documentation—increases investigative hold.
-
Higher-rank users can apply “burn” or “do not hold” tags.
-
If one or more numbers is held for investigation, post routes to investigation category.
- If there’s an investigation, instruct user to close it or request an investigation closure.
-
If user is high rank and requests “do not investigate,” post immediately.
-
If the posting user has high rank, the post is held for two hours before being published.
-
Else if approved while held: Then published.
Investigation Archive Category
-
Archive of never-published posts for investigators.
-
Posts with common numbers get merged (e.g., as a reply).
System Aim
The system creates two main areas:
-
A holding area for light probing and documentation of scams before front-page listing.
-
A longer-term investigation area to consolidate efforts and leverage posted information.
Goal: Foster better coordination in the scambaiting community—reposition the forum from a place to destroy numbers to a hub of collaboration and productivity.
