The scammer will send random friend requests to users on Discord. Once accepted, they will ask if you own your Steam account, as they will claim it was “accidentally reported” for “doing illegal purchases”
As I somehow have a “pending IP ban” on my Steam account, I wasn’t asked to contact a “Valve Fraud Moderator” on Discord, but rather a fake Steam admin at [email protected], a parked Hostinger domain, or else I may be punished for purported “violations of state and federal laws”
However, as I was in the process of sending the email, the scammer started getting quite impatient with me to the point where I was asked to send a screenshot of the email to them, so I sent them a Grabify link to the screenshot, and they responded by asking, in Filipino, why they can’t click the link before swiftly deleting it and asking the same question in English.
As they’ve been largely inactive since I had last sent them such a link, I opted to make this thread public for the time being pending any further updates on the matter, whilst making a well-written report to Hostinger admins in the hopes of swift action against the culprits in question.
