They obviously got my real full name and physical address and email from some leak but the way the email was written and the included photo is new to me. It was a PDF attachment, the email body itself only contained my name and address.
I did verify the photo included is from Google Maps streetview, the shadows and everything is identical.
Also, what’s their logic by threatening to come and physically show me the videos? Why would any scammer risk their physical safety by threatening a victim like that?
Krebs on Security came out with an article today about this and how they have a picture of your home. It’s from leaked data and they just put the address into maps. Low life scum!
Yeah, I wasn’t phased the least by it but I can totally imagine how somebody else might fall for it. It’s written in a very sinister and native-sounding language. Google needs to stop these emails immediately. This one was sent from a Gmail address and came straight to my Inbox.
