Hi All,
I need some help sleuthing this series of numbers.
Out of the blue I got a call from 774-530-8804. When I answer there is silence before they hang up. I went to call it back and I got a message saying "Thank you for calling Winter Professionals all of our agents are busy or you are calling after hours..." blahblahblah. When it gets to leaving a message it says "sorry, the mailbox you are trying to reach cannot accept messages" or something to that effect.
I've tried using my VoIP to call it back and no matter what time of the day or night I call I get this message. Sometimes I briefly get "hold music" before it routes to this message, but most of the time it just goes right to the automated message. They've called a couple of times and each time they just hang up after I say "hello?" So getting sick of it I block their number.
I've since gotten calls from:
774-530-8834
774-530-8637
Both of which when called back give you this "winter professionals" place.
My google searching says the number is a VoIP based out of Worcester, MA, but I cannot find any "Winter Professionals" in Worcester or anywhere in MA. Is this a harvesting scam to find valid phone numbers they can sell to scammers? Any advice/help from seasoned professionals appreciated.

@k00k00ification#117696 You are most likely correct in saying that they are ‘polling’ phone number to see if there’s an answer, but it may also very well be an outbound dial campaign which is supposed to deliver a message to you, or transfer you to an agent upon answer, but something on their end is configured incorrectly. I have additional faith in the latter possibility, mostly because of the result you receive when calling them back, it’s like there are no agents to calls, ever. Regarding their location, keep in mind (especially if it is a VoIP phone number, also known as a DID number) that the area code of the phone number usually does not sync up with where their business is actually located. Think of all the Indian scammers using U.S. toll-free phone numbers.
I receive these 'blank' calls as well, usually two to three times per day. However, the one's I receive always alter their caller ID to my area code, so calling them back usually will lead to a local resident. I don't suspect this is the case with your situation though, as every one you have called back lead to that same business.
Mystery solved. They were looking for the person who had the phone number before me. One person finally didn’t hang up and I was able to find out.
