I need a little help getting on scammer mass email/call lists. I’m looking from anything ranging from amazon fake order emails to voicemails about ‘ello your computer haz viruz’ to social security scams.
So far I have been putting my throwaway email and voice numbers into those fake giveaway or free gift card surveys, and i mainly seem to get at-least semi-legit telemarketers or those calls where they stay silent and just hang up after 10 seconds.
So far I only have only gotten one real scam in the last 5ish months where I supposedly had a government grant that I needed to buy a $200 “verification card” from a store to get, I was able to waste a collective ~1.5h of their time, get enough proof of government impersonation (a really bad fake id) to report it to the ftc, and make a yt video out of it and I enjoyed the whole process.
@jjj333_p Welcome to the forum!! This site is a wonderful resource for getting numbers & websites. I’ve found members to be friendly and helpful. BobRTC is another good source. I believe that once you dive into the murky waters of scammers, the calls will begin to pour in. I generally receive 10-50+ calls every day! I use TextNow, GoogleVoice, TextMe, TextFree and FreeText apps on my Android phone to bait them. Adding “infinite call” (Android or emulator) is a fun and satisfying app to have in your arsenal.
I also have six VoIP numbers and can robodial them as well (when I’m home). This tactic seems especially effective with toll-free number as the scammers pay for all incoming calls. There is a good tutorial here:
Hey! I didn’t particularly think to look there, so i very much appreciate the idea, but i was specifically wondering how other scambaiters manage to get scammers actively coming to them.
Best thing to do is to call the numbers on the scammers websites ask for help with xyx and keep doing this your number will spead quick other thing to do is fill out scam surveys for free products in your email spam i would recomend you use a google voice if possible so the number does not expire like text now unless you are happy to pay text now to keep the same number for 1 year.
Also another way is to call scammer numbers and leave a voice mail asking to call you back to help you they just hear money they dont care you may not be a victim they called so by doing this string them along hang up say you need time they will create a record and your done.

that is what i thought but once i got my first scambaiting in, i began to get not even telemarketers on that number, just those blank calls where if you pick up there is no one on the other end and they just hang up after a few seconds, and a lot of those blank 3-6second voicemails, even though i was continuing to sign up for free raffles and other fake stuff with that number and i was afraid that number got blacklisted.

Already on it

I didn’t know textnow did that, ive been just using google voice because im more familiar/comfortable with that platform, and i figured out a workaround to be able to verify multiple voice numbers with one real number.

I got my first scam call with my new voice number yay! it was your typical there was a purchase of an iphone x on your amazon account blah blah blah. the only problem is the wifi im currently on was cutting out so i could barely hear him and after a while google voice gave up. based on what im getting from you guys now that i showed any gullibility ill probably get other scam calls so we shall see and ill try to either have a better wifi connection or use the call forwarding to my actual number (for anyone unaware this does not show my genuine number) so that i am able actually hold a call.
thank everyone for their advice so far and im still very appreciative of any suggestions you guys send my way.
If anyone wants to call the number, its (747) 285-5708, i tried calling it back in my free time a couple times between then and now and i just get the line busy tone. here is a screen cap if anyone wants to see it.
note to mods yes this is a yt link but I’m not trying to promote anything i just found uploading it to yt as an unlinked video was the easiest for me to share it.
Hey i posted on mugu guestbook yesterday and so far i’ve only gotten one email and it seems to be more of someone messing around than any kind of scam. However from what i can see looking on old forums like 419 eater the most effective way to get emails and calls is to find things like guestbooks where you can make your email/number visible. I have also just posted on doublemirrors.com guestbook, but i wanted to come here and see if anyone else knew of some good guestbooks or forums i could put my details in. thanks
