On June 24, 2025, police on Mohali, India raided two illegal call centers operating out of the Manchanda Tower for scamming foreign nationals, including American citizens. The call centers have been identified as:
MS WYENWA TRAVEL PVT. LTD.
- A bogus travel agency that duped foreign nationals with discounted airfares.
- Five individuals were arrested and were found to be residing in rented accomodations in Mohali and Kharar:

- Rinchen Vineyal Thimfayo, from Bhutan

- Dolly Kumari, from Jharkhand

- An unidentified bhenchod.
- Police have also seized four computers, four headphones and five mobile phones.
AN UNNAMED PAYPAL REFUND SCAM OPERATION
- The scammers used toll-free numbers and also posed as bank officials to steal money through the purchase of Apple gift cards.

- Vugsam “Sam” Hungyo, from Nagaland but residing in a paying-guest accommodation in Balongi.
- Police have seized 5 laptops, 5 headphones, 9 mobile phones, a Toyota Fortuner, a Mohali-registered Jazz car and a Delhi-registered Verna.
