I had one call me Christmas Eve that was using the phone number of a business that’s been gone for years. The caller ID even showed the business name.

I had that too.

They called me using a Physical Therapy clinic’s number in my area. That business had been closed since Covid. I am so sick and tired of the Paki chipmunk degenerates.

@LindsayGardner - you are more than welcome to join in on the fun!

I’m back…. After a few weeks. Anyway, I’d be happy to call these scammers and play with them! Sansom, I’m guessing?

Beverly is such a great bot. Love getting scammers to taunt her since she threatens tracing the call. Great waste of their time.

It is once again a call from NUSO’s lovely “clientele”. I think it might make sense to send them a formal complaint about such illicit behavior of their clients. NUSO is operated by Brightlink, and their emails are: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected].

I would be inclined to use something along these lines:

"Dear NUSO Representatives,

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding an illegal robocall I received from a phone number associated with your network. Specifically, the robocall originated from phone number ‪(808) 302-2547‬. The caller identified themselves as a representative for “genetic swab testing” “Medicare” services, which I have no interest in nor consented to. As my number is listed on the National Do Not Call Registry (DNC), this unsolicited call is a clear violation of federal and state laws governing robocalls and telemarketing practices.

I wish to remind you that as a carrier facilitating this call, NUSO is legally responsible for ensuring that its network does not support or enable illegal telemarketing activities. The actions of your client, who is using your services to promote this unsolicited “Medicare advisor” robocall, violate several laws, including but not limited to:

  1. Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) – 47 U.S.C. § 227: This law prohibits robocalls to numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry and mandates that businesses obtain prior express written consent before contacting individuals via automated dialing systems or prerecorded voice messages.
  2. National Do Not Call Registry (DNC): As a registered user of the DNC, I am entitled to be free from unsolicited calls, especially from entities without express written consent.
  3. Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR) – 16 CFR Part 310: This rule, enforced by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), restricts calls made using prerecorded messages and requires that businesses honor DNC requests.

I hereby demand that NUSO immediately take corrective action to ensure that this client and any other affiliates operating on your network cease and desist from making illegal robocalls. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Investigating the source of the illegal robocall.
  • Taking immediate steps to prevent future calls from this or similar entities.
  • Implementing stricter compliance measures to prevent the use of your network for unlawful activities.

Moreover, I request that NUSO provide me with a written response within 14 days outlining the actions taken to address this issue.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]

Nice! I am glad you are not hesitant or shy to ensure better accountability for the avaricious nasty VOIP carriers enabling such misconduct! My opinion is that we - the civil society - must force accountability upon them, as they are very unlikely to ever self-regulate due to their greed. Unlike some delusional ‘Captain Compromises’ and ‘Politeness Ambassadors’ around here (prevalent in some sections that come to mind), I don’t live in a fairy tale where being a meek, soft-spoken goody two-shoes actually gets results. VOIP carriers are big wolves, not puppies, and they’re hungry for immense profits - no amount of polite pleading is going to change that!

P.S Take a look at ONVOY, Peerless Network/InfoBip, RingCentral, Telnyx and few others… I do not think I have much to add to this statement.

I think this Sarah gal might not know how to turn off Outlook’s automatic out of office notifications. Now, can we possibly expect such person to be able to handle serious compliance issues and illegal conduct on their network?

Is it a just a high school dropout, or might “Sarah” in fact be “outsourced” to some Abdul-Kumar-Habib from Pakistan???

What a great and professional group of people at NUSO!

P.S. A crazy thought: What if “Sarah” were actually an employee of Sansom? If that were the case, she might speak in a Chipmunk Man’s voice, so don’t be surprised if you get such call. I suspect that almost everyone in Pakistan is a chipmunk now… “The Great Conspiracy of Pakistan: The Chipmunk Revenge!”
