Went busy after about 30 seconds of ringing. Tried the URL in the screenshot and either I typed it wrong (its hard to read) or its down, I got a 404.
It’s still active. Continuous ringing. Try again in a little while.
You are correct - just talked to them for about 10 minutes. Standard ‘your IP is compromised by hackers’. They wanted me to pay first, but I insisted I wouldn’t pay until I saw results. This was literally my first* scambait attempt after setting up a VM with a fake bank and a voice changer, so I was REALLY trying to get them to install anydesk. She said it was $299 to fix it. I explained the computer was a refurb and we got it for $150 and should just get a new one but no… IP addresses are tied to humans apparently. She got bored with me and hung up.
*my first attempt was about an hour ago, talked to a very nice gentleman who wanted me to join the illuminati for the low price of $200. Audio only – and of course, I derped and had my mic on mute on OBS.
After several days of work to get to this point, I shouldn’t have expected much better on my first go, but I really wanted to see if my very fake bank would pass the sniff test.
