Additional information about this scam: Found it on guru, with a long note “Fake Windows 10 lockup! On Facebook, I clocked on some adverti*****t about a beverly hills fire and a celebrity couple was confirmed dead! OMG, then this Microsoft scam was unleashed and the noise of alarm kept repeating to call this number. So I call it being frantic and they immediately answered . Not saying they are Microsoft either. Finally, I turned down th volume. Then he starts to tell me to go to run and pit in these words… ultra… Then I said, wait a minute, you sure did answer the phone so quickly. How do I know this is Microsoft? He said you called me. Then I quickly ran my tracker remover and the message was gone and he hung up. I looked up the number on Google and it is a Windows 10 scam, Be careful!”
He called back from (209) 512-5904 (American Messaging Service – VOIP) Gave me the usual BS about IP breached. I stunnified him speechless by mentioning I use a closed network running through a DHCP option 121 server (I actually do) which totally obfuscates your identity as it mimics whatever DNS you’ve rerouted your IP4 & 6 through. Told him he needs to go back to tech suppoat school, lol.
