Once remotely connected to my virtual machine, “this side James” transferred the call to his “Senior Supervisor, Beau Ford” who ran the “tree” command in the Command Prompt to bring up fake scan results that falsely claim my computer was infected with the “csrss.exe trojan.”

- In order to get rid of the fake virus, I was asked to sign up for a “network security firewall” for $199.99 for 1 year, $349.99 for 3 years and $599.99 for a “lifetime transferable” plan.
- I chose the “lifetime” plan and was asked to pay with CashApp, Zelle, or an Apple Gift Card, and he really incentivized the “Apple Gift Card” by offering 20% off, but I chose CashApp and asked for their Cash Tag and they wanted me to connect my phone to their “secure server.”
- While I got their CashTag, the scammer attempted to “proceed with the securities” by simply opening up the Performance Monitor. I told him there was an issue with the CashApp server and he agreed to provide their Zelle email address.
- Once I got their Zelle email, I told him that there was something wrong with their account and he said they also accept Chime and Venmo. He gave me the Venmo account alongside a code that I faked not working, prompting him to blame it on my network not being “secure.”
- I then asked for their Chime information, but the scammer kept giving me Venmo accounts to “try” before he gave me their Chime email. I falsely claimed I was banned from the app and then asked for a “secure web portal,” so he asked me to log into my nonexistent Target account or purchase a gift card from vanillagift.com.
- I refused to purchase gift cards and he refused to “suppoat.”
