Microphone issues on BobRTC using iPhone

I’m having issues with microphone for some reason they can’t hear me.and yes I don’t have it on mute

Any thoughts ?

To check what could be the issue I got a couple of questions for ya:

  • Which device and browser are you using?
  • Did you grant your browser permission to access the microphone? It usually comes up as a little popup at the address bar. Make sure you check the checkbox “Allow always” or something similar and then “Allow”
  • In BobRTC preferences, have you selected the correct microphone?

On my iphone

I would like to use my Mac laptop but it won’t even call when I press the telephone to call nothing opens up

@RobertoN#122895 iPhones/iOS devices are not supported because of Apple. Apple does not support webRTC technology which makes phone calls possible via the web browser.

There's a workaround though which may or may not work: Go to the iPhone Settings - Safari and switch on the option "Camera & Microphone Access"; Attach headphones to your iPhone, Make a call on BobRTC; Each time you dial a number you will be prompted that bobrtc.live would like access to the microphone - click Allow; If everything is working you should see "connected"; The only issue is that the audio output is heard through the headphones but the input is through the iPhone mic and not the inbuilt microphone in the headphones.

Any Android phone or a computer with Chrome or Firefox works! :)
