Very strange recording opened the call. Actually they called me and there was no answer. Caller ID 800 Service. I called back and the recording answered as Medical Alert (female voice with a lot of UMs and UHs). Asked if I was 50 or over press 1, under 50 press 2. Got to the “real person” opening person and she said they were directly related with Medical Alert and the device would be free. She asked if I had homeowners insurance. I said no. She asked if I was on meds. I said no and she “That’s very good to know, mahm” I asked what the catch was and she said no catch. I asked “Where are you located?” She answered “Clearwater, FL”. Then I said there’s no catch? You don’t want money and then comes to “You just pay for the monitoring which is like a $1 a day.” Ahhh there it is. I wish I was set up to scambait but I haven’t gotten that far yet in my skills. All I can do is gather info.
So I got on the phone with MedicalAlert.com and they are out of PA not Clearwater, Fl. I asked if they have a fraud dept and they don’t but he did confirm that nothing about this is legit. The number or the location.
I got so far as to almost talk to the closer but I didn’t have the time to stay on the phone. I’m at work. For now if there is someone that wants to pick this up and bait them “enjoy”. If not I’m thinking of sending this to Pierogi and see if he will.
