Magic Jack, “Peter Wilson” falsely claimed the payment was for an auto-renewal, prompting me to “cancel” by running QuickAssist or “opening the Google Chrome” to go to stwps.org to download ConnectWise (Code: 39735).
- I faked the download not working, so “Peter” had me instead download UltraViewer (ID: 81204673/DESKTOP-BCFC9RD). Once he remotely connected to my virtual machine, he proceeded to download ConnectWise once more to “connect to the secure server”
- Their “Technician” will then blank my screen with a fake update before hanging up the call.
- I then received a callback from their “senior account manager, Jack Watson,” from their Magic Jack line (845) 481-8842. I was then asked to complete their “cancellation and refund form,” which falsely claims to be affiliated with PayPal and accredited with the Better Business Bureau.
- Once I submitted the “form,” I was then asked to log into my nonexistent bank account. But as I don’t do online banking, I was asked to register for an account anyways, so I played him the bhenchod song.
