Answers as: “Norton” or “McAfee”
Falsely Claims: Norton and McAfee are the same company, computer came with free trial.
Remote Access Software: ConnectWise from yjhelp.top (Nickname: “Secure Server”) or jnhelp.top, or AnyDesk (Address: 1081293776/lenovo, Password: apple321)

The scammer’s ConnectWise domain was blocked by my ISP, so the bhenchod asked me to download AnyDesk so he can ask me to install ConnectWise from jnhelp.top to no avail. Instead, I was asked to set the AnyDesk password to apple321 and reconnected to my virtual machine just to get all permissions.

  • The bhenchod them asked me to fill out a “cancellation form” and, once completed, log into my nonexistent bank account. But since I don’t do online banking, I was asked to search for the fake website, so I continued to tell him off for not listening properly.
  • The bhenchod then tried to download ConnectWise from jnhelp.top again to no avail before minimizing everything and asking me if I use iOS or Android, prompting me to tell him I was using an old flip phone.
  • I was then asked to grab my “recent bank statement” and register an account with wise.com so I can send a “demo transaction” of $786 in the form of Thai Baht. No transaction was made, as the bhenchod minimized the screen.
  • The scammer then tried to set up another transaction of $1,786 in Thai Baht to a mule, but the platform can only allow me to send $1,500 maximum. I told the scammer that I cannot send a transfer to Thailand as my bank account will be locked, but he was insistent that I make this payment.
  • I was then asked to take a photo of my ID with my cell phone, but I had already told the chod that I was using an old flip phone, so it would be impossible to do. As such, he asked me to check for an email from them or their bank.
  • Since I haven’t gotten an email, the scammer asked if I have a gift card on me. Since I don’t have any, I was asked to to go to a nearby CVS or Walmart, so I told him I cannot go due to ongoing snow squalls.
  • The call was dropped as I reached the 1-hour time limit for calls through the PBX. I tried to get a callback number from him, but he refused to “suppoat”
