“this side Mark” tried to sign me up for a $149 complete protection plan by remotely connecting to my virtual machine through support.me, going to mcafee.com and running the Command Prompt as an administrator so he can open up the event viewer and msinfo32 before the call got dropped.
- I was asked to accept a callback, which I am unable to do through the PBX, so I asked him to provide me his number. He instead provided the company number, (888) 539-0172 (Inteliquent).
- “this side Mark” then wanted me to pay for McAfee on their website, so I signed up for the Bhenchod Song.
The scammers falsely claim to operate from Bellingham, Washington.
