Additional information about this scam: I did not receive this invoice but a poster reports a McAfee invoice. The post says: This number is being used on a “demand for payment” email claiming to be from McAfee antivirus demanding payment of several hundred dollars for a product I never ordered.

The bhenchod struggled to remotely connect to my virtual machine through Supremo. But once he did so, I was asked to hang up the call and accept a call from their “billing team,” who used the TextPlus number ‪(214) 960-5228‬.

  • I was then asked to download ConnectWise from defhelp.live (Code: 74343, IP: 193.27.90.71 :netherlands:), an iFrame of niop43.top (IP: 37.221.64.111 :moldova:) before he blanked my screen with a fake system update while he attempted to view my webcam.

  • “Richard” then falsely claimed to be working with the Better Business Bureau and asked me to run a “scan” with the “tree” command in the Command Prompt. I was asked to provide the name of my fake bank and the refund amount, which they will attempt to add an additional “99” to make it $39,999.99 instead of $399.99.
