Extra Info: An elderly friend received a letter (snail mail), from a Daniel Tiber, saying she could claim the estate of a dead guy as there was no next of kin and her last name was the same as dead guy. $9.2 million is apparently up for grabs and this Daniel will help her claim it. No tel number provided, but he says to respond by email to [email protected]. I’m going to have some fun with this crook but thought I’d throw him to other wolves at the same time.
I have corresponded with this scammer original fake name Daniel Tiber. So the scam works like this: Scammer says you have the same last name as someone who has died and left behind a huge sum of money in the bank that the scammer works in. In this case scammer sent fake letter head of TD Canada Trust Bank along with a fake bank email. Scammer advises me to write to the bank and claim the estate of deceased. I sent the email to the fake bank email. Scammer replies as if it is the bank and recommends I get a lawyer to represent me. Of course bank provides fake email of lawyer. I write to lawyer email asking him to do the needful. He replies with his fees along with processing fees supposedly charged by government. Total almost USD 20,000. I cringe to think of how many seniors have been lured and lost their life savings to this evil person. Anyway I replied and said he should take payment from Daniel Tiber as I will re-imburse him when the estate is settled. No reply after that. Letś wait and see.

Yes, seems like Combined Insurance is another scam company with complaints from people who have used it.
My boss got the exact same letter dated May 17th, 2022. The person signed as James Noval though and the email address is [email protected].
He says, “this requires all confidentiality at this stage and I believe that you are ready to keep this absolutely discreet until you are able to claim the funds from the bank. Once the funds are released to you, it will be shared between the two of us.” What on earth?!
What are these people trying to get out of others?? Are they going to get some correspondences going back and forth then say that it’s going to cost money to get the funds released?? I pray no one falls for this foolishness!

Daniel Tiber is still at it. I received a letter today Nov 2, 2022 from this ‘gentleman’ informing me that a long lost relative, Ed (?), had past away and yadda yadda, there was an estate worth, what a coincidence, $9.2 million. I will file this away under ‘Nice try a=hole’.
Guess we may be related! I got the same letter from Daniel Tiber dated 27 Oct 2022. I also may be related to Ed … !

wow! I just recieved a similar letter in the mail from a “Richard Hoffman” who wrote me a similar story about how my “kin” died in 2012 and left 7.8 million in their bank account. Smh, nothing about the letter was even close to being believable. It’s a shame what lengths people would do to try to scam others like that.
Considering the last time someone posted about this scam, this guy must have just gotten out of jail as I just received his latest snail mail … this guy just doesn’t know he sent this to the wrong person …
