- New York State Police have arrested 22-year-old Therese Colaizzi after an “extensive investigation” on October 20.
- Colaizzi purchased items from various Homegoods, Marshalls, Homesense and T.J. Maxx locations in Monroe and Ontario counties, then made fraudulent returns to receive $10,175.25 in double-refunds.
- Colaizzi was charged with 3rd and 4th-degree larceny, as well as two counts of first-degree scheme to defraud. She now faces a sentence of up to 19 years prison and a maximum fine of $10,000.
