Additional information about this scam: Apparently these goobers have been operating for a while now. The carrier seems to be Commio VOIP.
They claim to be “local home investors”; a name given was “Carlos Guzman”.
They denied or would not give a company name.
Have fun.
Would not give me the name of the company, definitely not American. They said local no matter what area code I called from. Got nasty when I started asking questions.
This is what I have noticed with scammers is that they usually will not say the name of their company, or they give a very generic name like “Law Office.” I mainly deal with zombie debt collector scams calling for the previous owner of my phone number. I always start off by asking the name of their debt collection company and then ask for the address, and they usually get hostile and start yelling at me.
This was so fishy. No matter what state I called from they said they were “local” and when I pressed them for more info they got angry.
