I am sharing my recent experience with a significant cryptocurrency fraud incident to raise awareness and potentially help others avoid similar scams. If there is any advise please let me know.
Details of the Scam:
Initial Contact: On January 20, 2024, I was approached by Kyrylo Kruhlov on LinkedIn with a job offer. This account is now banned:
https://www.linkedin.com/in/kyrylo-kruhlov/
Software Installation: I was instructed to install software from a GitHub repository [email protected]:stanislavt228/Quant-Fund.git, which led to the theft of my cryptocurrency tokens from metamask wallet.
Theft of Cryptocurrency: My tokens were stolen from my Metamask wallet (address: 0xE0B6F4D2C894fa46D1D3Ad19e95E7Fd1aF21E5B7) and transferred to these addresses:
0x74de5d4FCbf63E00296fd95d33236B9794016631
0x7c71AE9A6c7A122D0A66Ec0943fb8605aC423536
Potential Links:
One of the destination addresses (0x74de5d4FCbf63E00296fd95d33236B9794016631) is linked to Bittrex Global, with other victims reported on Reddit. This might be gone trough a mixer.
Kyrylo Kruhlov’s LinkedIn profile shows over 500 connections, possibly indicating a larger fraudulent network or victims. Another LinkedIn profile, xxx, endorses him.
A mutual connection, yyy, might have more information. Please let me know if I can share the names of these profiles.
As a result I have:
Contacted Metamask, Linkedin, Github, MET, Action Fraud.
Action Fraud Response:
Despite providing extensive details and potential leads, Action Fraud has closed my case, stating no viable lines of enquiry were identified despite LinkedIn stating is willing to cooperate with law enforcement, but Action Fraud has not requested further information.
I am urging anyone with similar experiences or additional information to come forward.

Yes they are winding down. I did contact their support, but they said:
At this time, I have reached out to a specialist to review this request and provide further assistance. We will follow up with you in this Ticket with an update. We appreciate your continued patience.
and then
Our sincere apologies, as previously mentioned, there is nothing we can do to further assist you with this matter.
Please reach out to the support of the other exchange/wallet to further assist you in this matter.
Also I learned this after the fact:
As an aspiring cybersecurity analyst seeking work in the IT field, it is pretty sickening to see these headlines of data breaches affecting millions of people. This is exactly why I want to get into the field, to stop this kind of stuff from happening. Too bad the job market is in shambles right now.
Well given the blockchain information is public if you can find any more details on where the funds went then I am happy to offer a small award and you can put it on your resume
