Life Protect Scam

Scam Number: 1-888-276-8613

Extra Info:

I recieved a robo call from this number last year, offering me a “free” medical alert system. I called back, still offering me this device. I was connected with a robot named “Jessica”, who then connected me to a “medical alert specialist” (scammer). At the end of the call, the scammer asked me for banking and credit card info. They robo called me on other numbers with the same scam.

They are based in Norfolk, VA, their call center is at: 6160 Commander Pkwy, 23502.

They write their own reviews on google and gave themselves an A+ with BBB, on what I suspect is a copy cat website.

They also harrass elderly people and use dumb scare tactics to convince them to get their unit. They will always deny any accusations of them scamming.
A scammer will make only $5 if they scam someone successfully, and get paid $15-$18 an hour, their weekly sallary is around $500 - $1000 - $1500, depending on their performance. All of the payments are in cash, since they wouldn’t want this sort of activity to show up on any of the company accounts.

How the scam works:
They make unothorized charges with your banking Info and still charge you money even after you wish to disconnect the service. Their profit out of these scams in 2020 was around $1.23 Million.

They are on high alert at the moment after I found them and exposed them. I have no idea why the Police don’t do anything about this. Sometimes I hear that the Police chief’s son works their, probably that’s why they’re not shut down yet, but im not entirely sure.

This is one of the scams in the U.S. that has least attention. I hope this can help bring more attention to this scam, and finally put an end to their shady buisness.

Life Protect 24/7 is a legitimate company which uses misdial marketing as one of their sales techniques along with a rather cheesy, fear mongering script. However with that being said, nothing they do is illegal & the staff & management will answer any question you ask to the best of their abilities.

The number 888 276 8613 & the other one that used to be posted which was 855 676 2448 is not Life protect but an imposter scam call center operating in Canada I believe. They sound American but know nothing about America or the Life protect company & products they offer.

I called the real Life protect sales number off of their website & spoke to 3 separate supervisors who all confirmed that these numbers don’t belong to them. As a matter of fact, they don’t know who the numbers belong to. I even had them call the numbers so they could see for themselves.

Both numbers are used by the same call center which has at least 50 people working for it. Both nubers were used as various tech support scams in the past by Indian call centers & were leased to this scam call center a couple of years ago. They even had unsuspecting people working from home who answered an ad & believed they were working for the real company. However, the ones that were working in the call center knew it was a scam because they kept insisting they were in the official listed address when they obviously knew better.

Anyway, I called the carrier of the 855 # & after arguing with her for 15 minutes, had the # pulled last Friday. The 888 276 8613 number is still up & is a little more difficult to get in contact with its’ carrier because they only have a website. No phone number. Personally I don’t like sending e-mails to shady companies so if anyone else wants to attempt to contact the carrier to let them know that number is still being used to scam people, be my guest.
