Latest Scammer Payback video - Anyone else find it irresponsible?

Did anyone else find the latest Scammer Payback video " Hackers Vs Scammers: The Most Insane Battle Online" just insanely irresponsible? He even addresses his fear about the guy walking up to his car and how you have no idea if the person may have a weapon, but they found it sensible to follow him into a public business and confront him with innocent people all around them.

While I generally enjoy Payback’s video, he needs to keep to what he knows how to do. He is NOT trained law enforcement. This was reckless and dangerous, not only for his team, but people around them in public.

I get that we all want to take these people down, but there has to be sensible limits to what we do.

He very much seems to be in a “let’s get more extreme for the clicks” mindset lately. I agree, very risky. They should be waiting for the cops to show. The hyper sensationalism is going to lead towards someone getting hurt.

Yeah, I very much got a vibe of “think of the clicks” from this video, and that is insanely disappointing.

Plus let’s say they get a criminal investigation and arrest. How many of these antics could blow an investigation? Like even if the circumstances are legit, what cost could lead to the ends? Multiple people shot? Money is recoverable. It’s like they say they with a cute truck or ambulance situation, if you drive recklessly in the truck to get there and you cause a whole new incident, you make the situation even worse and no one ends up getting help in the end.

I am watching the video now. My other problem with these “catching the mule” videos is you better be damn sure this person is a mule. There are many couriers who just pick up parcels and not know what is in the parcels.

Yep. You’re hitting all the nails on the head.

Like I said, I get we all want to take these people down, but we have to have limits. He really blew this one on multiple levels.

Just seeing the start here, they were messing it up by working independent of the feds at the start. The local guys clearly said no because they didn’t want to have a violent confrontation in a Lowe’s parking lot. So he has a thermal bag, looks like DoorDash to me

Yeah, there was a reason the prosecutor told the police to stay out of it.

Clearly he is more of a YouTuber than a scambaiter at this point

Like what was the goal even? The lead up was not handled by law enforcement. Did they just burn a bridge for a real investigation and arrest to happen? They’ve been busting mules left and right lately. Did these guys just cut and run now since they got blown by some YouTube vigilantes? If this guy was for real, they just blew the chance of getting these guys caught. There’s also the chance that this guy was doing what he was told was a legitimate pickup. But then again, the bridge was just burned here for real work to happen.

The thing I am left with is when pierogi asks “hmmm do we wait for law enforcement enforcement to bust them or do we let this chance to make content in an hour slip through our hands

I’m glad I’m not the only one that was baffled by this whole mess. I owe him a lot for getting me really going in this, but I think I’ll stick to slightly more reputable baiters from here on out.
