On January 28, 2025, police in Kolkata, West Bengal, India raided an illegal call center on the third floor of 848, Laskarhat Rd, Tagore Park, Kasba, Kolkata, West Bengal 700039, India for facilitating Norton/McAfee scams against American residents. Two scammers, who are believed to be the kingpins of the operation, were arrested:
- 29-year-old Rahul Kumar from 473, Laskarhat Rd, Tagore Park, Kasba, Kolkata, West Bengal 700039, India
- 26-year-old Anees Hussain from 27A, Gulam Jelani Road, Tiljala, Kolkata, West Bengal, 700039, India.
Police have also seized six laptops, four mobile phones, one router and additional documents during the raid. Four additional suspects are being sought after.
