On June 3, 2025, police in Kolkata, West Bengal, India raided an illegal call center operating out of a ground floor facility on Diamond Harbor Road for stealing money from American victims through a common Microsoft tech support scam, complete with remote access software and the transferring of funds through wire or crypto. The scammers arrested were:
