Extra Info: These people call about insuring whole kitchens item-by-item. They’ll mention a washing machine, an oven or a microwave oven. They’ll ask a customer to confirm the manufacturer (i.e. tell them) There’s a mix of speakers using broken and fluent English and there’s not always a pronounced Indian accent. I ran across them targeting a disabled elderly friend in Northern Ireland on 11th April and again on the 14th or 15th, before 2pm in both cases.
Thankfully my friend was wise and strung them along, giving them a false name for the manufacturer of his dishwasher, which of course they ran with. During the second call, with the female fluent English speaker I wasn’t sure myself if it was genuine - and I’m quite savvy. She was quite efficient for 10 minutes. When he asked her to send the forms so he could look at the papers she got pushy, questioning him, usual repeat.
