Additional information about this scam:

These scammers pretend to be a bank from Kenya (KCB) and offer loans to users via Safaricom (Kenya mobile carrier) M-pesa Mobile money service. They get the user to dial *334# to access the M-pesa options menu and then guide them through the process of sending money to them as a “loan activation fee”. I have called these scammers and they have admitted amidst extremely rude insults that “We do indeed scam people, but what are you going to do about it?”. They are extremely cocky and rude to people who discover the scam they are running, going so far as to insult their mother horribly. I live in Kenya and speak the language, and therefore have conversed with them only in Swahili; my theory is that, if they were confronted in English, it would throw their minds for a loop and they would be much less haughty. I have sent IPlogger links under the guise of a fund transfer receipt, but so far they have not opened any of them. They operate out of a call center, and there are at least 7 people who work there, probably many more than that. I have reported this to the carrier of the phone number I know they use [ +2540100677112 ], but nothing has happened for 5 days. The authorities are extremely corrupt and cannot be expected to do anything, so the only other option I see is just to bother them and hope they one day get shut down.
