Kelly A. Umana ARRESTED for facilitating Social Security SCAM

On July 10, 2025, the Roswell Police Department in Georgia arrested 25-year-old Powder Springs resident Kelly A. Umana for facilitating a Social Security scam, where:

  • Umana would call his victim, a resident of Shelby Township, Michigan, under the guise of “Shawn Taylor” from the U.S. Treasury and the Social Security Administration.
  • Umana will threaten to arrest his victim on the grounds that her Social Security Number was used for illegal activities.
  • In order to avoid being “arrested,” the victim was asked to wire nearly $110,000 directly to Amana’s bank account.

Amana was extradited to Michigan on the felony charge of making false pretenses. He appears to have been released on a $20,000 bond, though Shelby Township police did indicate that “more arrests are forthcoming.”

There should be no bond for these monsters.
