John Q Adams belongs to a buying club. Its VP is John C Calhoun, its secretary is Henry Clay, and the past president is James Monroe. They want to share the use of the voucher, but no one seems to be able to explain how the voucher keeps track of expenditures (dah…) No one got the historical references: Adams was the 8the president; his VP was John C. Calhoun, Clay was Sec. of State, and he succeeded James Monroe. All was lost on this poor lady. Didn’t have time to hang around for the coup de grace.
