Honestly I feel like job-hunting sites are partly-fully to blame for this. Indeed, Ziprecruiter, Monster, etc., all make it extremely easy for scammers to get the personal information of tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of job-seekers. And with the way the job market is in America right now, a lot of us are either desperate for a job, desperate for a job with a livable wage, or about to become one of those two.

Job offer scams are one of the most common scams in Northern Europe too. I have never received scam calls on my personal phone number but I have received some scam messages about “great job offers”.
