Ok, so the basis of the scam is getting a text either telling you you applied for a job with “closely named to a real business” name on (in my case Indeed) or that they saw your resume and want to offer a job. At first I didn’t realize it was a scam but the point is, they’ll say that they will hire you at a silly rate of pay for a stay at home job through a Skype based text interview. They’ll try to send you a check to buy your “work from home” set up only to have something go wrong and need you to send the cash back. By the time you do that, the check bounces and you are still jobless and now short big time in your account. I never got that far before I realized but I have a phone number from someone today AND a Skype account from the first person to text me a month ago that seems to still be occasionally active. The text today, when I called them out, actually responded and included a Nigerian insult so if that helps, awesome. The phone number from today is 414-348-2546 under the name “Robert Garcia”. And the Skype name is under live:.cid.7ba20785aaa7e657 and the name associated, which is fake most likely, Raymond Antonio “HR Manager” with an emoji in it. Do what you will with it and if new ones continue to text me, I’ll give those to you as well!
