These individuals pretend to be the Publisher’s Clearing House. This specific group of PCH scammers can be identified by a unique feature in their voicemails: they always list a name at the start of their message.
Here is an example voicemail: “Hi, my name is Deborah Holland. This is an important message from the prize patrol team. You are the lucky winner of $7,000 a week forever in our monthly grand prize draw. Did you check your mailbox or your email? Your claims number is 7718 PCH. I repeat, 7718 PCH. Due to your mailing subscription with the United States postal Service, your prize has already been approved by the President, Mr. Joe Biden. To claim your prize, please contact the claims Department at 631-305-2058. I repeat, sixthree. 130520.”
