Additional information about this scam: Basically an employment scammer, Nigeria based.

So it starts with texts to potential victims from a number like (520) 702-3718, in this text they offer a well-paid job and the application starts by visiting https://prismafilms.us.

From there the scammer will send the victim a fake ECheck as an “advance” to the payment, and then the victim will purchase some matierials related to the job. The ECheck is fake but the victim will deposit it and believe the lie that those funds are to be used as part of the job. The scammer then asks the victim to complete a purchase by sending some money with Zelle or any other P2P platform to an intended mule.

Anyway, of note: they apoligized for their ‘limited English’ so when I spoke with one of them over the phone, I said that it was NO PROBLEM since I could speak a little Italian. They immediately hung up LOL.

Ya’ll I have never done victim reach-out. I had decided in the past that I am not suited for victim reach-out, but in this case I thought it was necessary. Yesterday I spoke with a very young woman, a medical professional who fell into their trap. She believed the scammers and was about to accept money from other victims (basically a money mule). I showed her the evidence of their scam operation and she thanked me.
