So I used to do 419 scams but now I want to troll these tech support guys. I’ve already set up a good VM in virtualbox, changed the BIOS information and everything. I even downloaded some programs to make it pretty realistic and set up a VPN on the host machine. However, I was thinking about the possibility of virtual machine escape and if any of these scammers could do it through any method including file transfer or is the machine fully isolated from them? This might sound weird, but then again I am new to using VMs.
@acres101#39662 The only way out is through a shared folder, so as long as you don’t have one then you should be okay.
Or just right click it in the VM and disconnect it while you’re scambaiting, that way it’s not there at all. It will reconnect whenever you restart or restore a snapshot anyway.
Yeah. My shared folder is called and shows up as “Win7 Scammer” so it’s kind of a necessity for me XD
