Extra Info: Got cold called on one of my burners and was told I was preapproved for a loan under $5000. They asked if I was Brian Thompson and asked if I wanted a loan. She then emailed me the website www.simpleloanlending.com and that ended up asking for a credit card number and info. Seems like a phishing scam, but I’m not sure.

If I was you, I wouldn’t trust them. Since he addressed you by the wrong name and it’s a cold call and It’s never good to give your card details over the phone, especially to a company you don’t trust. If you called a legitimate company up (using the number from their website) it will probably be safe to give your card details.

Fair enough, it was on a number I got from the app Burner. So I’m assuming it could have been another persons old number. I just didn’t want to hound them with prank calls if they were a legit business.
