My friend received this email from discord, claiming that someone did a mass report against a user, but they found that the account has violated Terms of Service.
However, I find it odd that the email tells you to DM someone else. Is this a scam?
This is an increasingly-common scam email being sent out to Discord users. Basically, they wanna hijack your account by falsely claiming it was reported for illegal activities.
This is likely based on the “Accidentally Reported to Steam” scam, which is often done by Filipino nationals.
