Is Scam-baiting a good thing?

My Father says to me: Scam calling is dangerous. Stop harrasing those people or you will get in trouble with the police. My father dosent like that i scam bait and flood scammers. Even if i tell him that those people scam. He always says to me: You will get in trouble if you keep scam calling.

I have been doing this for many years now. So long as you only target known scammers, you will be just fine. They won’t spend the time and effort needed to file any legal action in a foreign country against you only to expose that they are scammers. To them, it is just a cost of doing “business”.

So long as you never give out personal info including your name, number and location, there is really not much that will happen to you. This is the most important thing to remember.

@someaguy#76770 Am i helping people when i scam bait, or am i causing harm?

I am a recent scambaiter, I have no moral dilemma in wasting these criminal’s time. If I can steal their time it’s once less real victim that is being robbed. Make no mistake about it these scammers are THIEVES…

As someaguy pointed out NEVER use your real identity or personal identifiers, NEVER use your real phone number, use an app like TextNow, TalkOne, Google Hangouts or similar. I have a fireRTC account, that I got just before they stopped accepting members. It is my favourite tool as I can callerID spoof the scammer's own relay numbers. TextNow is my second favourite as you can release the phone number and get a new one every 15 days or so. If you have a couple e-mail accounts then you can have several numbers.

Scammers are know to call back, and are known to do reverse lookups, so best not to a real ID linked, heck create a new Gmail or Hotmail throw-away account to link to TextNow et al..

The way I view it, is these scammers are lucky people. They speak English, a valuable job skill that only 10% of India has. Instead of using their skills to get a decent job, they go for easy money. They are selfish assholes who deserve nothing but the worst in life. Show them no pity for their greed.

If you get too much rep tho, and you start targeting big companies, you might get some suits knocking at your door, like Thunder had with MyPhoneSupport. But it’s almost impossible to get your ass traced if you use a VPN, a VM, and a spoof caller.

Don't worry about scambaiting. It's safe as long as you keep in mind to not give any personal intel to these fuckers, as they sell this info with each other on facebook groups rounding thousands of rats on the website.

Keep hunting.

@mavericklunarv#76759 your dad is just trying to parent. Don’t know your age or anything. But just wants to keep you safe as any good parent would.

They are stealing people’s money. I say fuck 'em.
