910-384-0867 – The IRS always answers their phone “Hello” and then when you say “Are you the IRS?” he said “Yes”. I asked why he did not answer IRS and he said FU.

There was a SSA/CRA/IRS scam center last week that said a simple hello waiting for the caller to say;
“I got a call from the CRA…” or “I got a call about my SSN…” before they would launch their script.
I have also noted a trend with fake CRA scammers they no longer answer; "CRA officer ******* ******* ..." They now demand you give them your info; name and SIN before they say Officer Jack Wilson.
Gov't telephone protocol in most nations is, once you get past the press 2 for English and the other automatic switchboards is, they give department/section name and there name, CRA will also give an employee number that includes the office regional code.

They’re also worried about raids (police raids). It’s been a while since there’s been some nasty call center sweepups and it’s only a matter of time before there’s some more raids and everyone’s rounded up. The pensiveness must be in the air in a few call centers.
