Is there any way to track someone through just calling them? Like if its a VoiP number how would I find out where they are? I am new to this still and just trying to do some research and I am not finding much on that. Thank you!!
I do not believe there would be any other way than just buying the data out from the respective ISP / cellular provider and from the question I assume you don’t have that money. There are services that sell data about the number but they seem extremely unreliable and scammy. Yyou can always try yellow pages but who has their phone number in them these days?
I do not know any illegal method to arbitrarily extract such information from an anonymous number and even if I did I wouldn’t share it here as it would be extremely illegal to do so.
TL:DR; You are much better off attempting to read between the lines and SE’ing the scammer into giving you the info you need.
