Extra Info: Pretends to be an artist offering portrait commissions. They steal images of paintings of actual artists and posing as the real authors. Working from various profiles on instagram but always sends one same copy pasted message to their victims like this:
The scammer then says their client will send the check to the victim, in this case for 3.5K$ and tells her to take a cut of 500$ and wire the rest to him:
When you report them Instagram doesn’t take them down, but these scammer profiles keep disappearing so not sure what’s going on, they deactivate their own accounts for a while or maybe they do get taken down after getting reported by many people? This is unclear to me since I don’t know how that actually works on Instagram and what are the rules.

Anyway beware of this one, they target regular people and they’ve been doing it for a while now.
