Inheritance Scam

Hi, first time poster here. This is my first time receiving a scam email, or at least the first time it has made it through my spam filter.

Someone claiming the name “Peter Deere” sent me an email from “[email protected]” asking whether my email was active. I responded assuming it may be about my recent job applications.

Then I soon received this email from them, claiming that they worked for NatWest Bank and that an extended relative of mine (who obviously doesn’t exist) died and left behind 8,782,500 GBP, and didn’t trust their government or something, so now the bank is searching for relatives.

I knew immediately what it was about, even before reading the first line, from watching scambaiting videos, so I searched for a forum such as this to share with.

Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a way to attach a file, or a quote, so just have fun with that email address!

@halotroop2288#147095 I’ve literally just received an email from [email protected] asking if my email account was active. I’ve no idea what it’s about and I’m not going to reply but I was worried me replying would encourage them to try some sort of scam or hack. Very strange email, was sent to my focused inbox. good to know I’m not the only one!
