wait a second, now all of a sudden when i call this number a real doctors voice mail kicks in with a pure english accent. i found the doctors name “Kyu Shin” in buffalo and other local counties, but the man who just talked to me had a very strong indian accent. is it possible for these scammer’s to use active phone number’s as their own caller id?

please take this thread/topic down. i called back and realized it was a man with an asain accent, not an indian/hindi which matches the doctor i found. sorry for the misinformation.

@bc14701#85806 its already deleted. The scammers probably spoofed the number, that means they called and made it look like they’re calling from that particular number however that wasn’t actually their number.

i was wondering, have the scam calls died down because the call centers are being dealt with as seen on youtube videos, or is there some other reason?

@bc14701#85839 What do you mean? This call center in particular, why they cannot be reached?

Or do you mean the scam industry in general?

Well it depends, usually they don't shut down for a couple of prank calls although our website has strong traffic. A number being posted here gets hit quite hard by scambaiters so it does kinda affect them. But instead of shutting down their operations they just shut down one phone number and switch to a different one. Some big call centers own like 100 numbers that they can use / switch. So usually if you cannot reach a scammer on a particular number, that means that they have switched their number and a working with a different one now.

However scambaiters who have exposed scam call centers sometimes really shut them down or made them go underground because they're scared of getting raided by police and shut down.

Scam business in general isn't going down however I think tech support scam is getting less, nowadays it's in to do travel scams. But that might be just a wrong perception by me, I don't have official numbers to support this claim.
