So I was thinking what if there was a scammer.info APP? I don’t know it’s just some dumb idea, and can scammers call the police on you?
@FlashByte#91933 there was already someone who wanted to make a scammer.info app but in the end it wasn’t done. Scammer.info works in your browser on the smartphone aswell so there’s no real need for an app.
And theoretically yes, scammers could call the police on you (for no reason, SWATTING) although I think I've never heard of any case like this. I don't think they have the time for this, also they don't have info about you usually so they cannot give your address or your name to the police either. Nothing to worry about.
@NeeP#91936 The scammers will not likely call police on you but every week I get spoofed calls from “police sheriff” from my “locality”. One Indian scammer calls himself as “Nate Shaw” in some big Indian call center. He threatens you to co-operate with the SSA officer and orders to buy gift cards. spoof city police but say they are sheriffs (county level authority)
@drwat#92010 Ahh that’s why! I sometimes get asked by the SSA scammers if I received a call from my local police department. How do they do that? I mean they need the name of the victim then?
@NeeP#92018 It is just a ploy in their scam script to heighten one’s fear

Great question! I would like to know what you use or any suggestions for a device or cheep cheep almost free app
Thank you

I have just joined your excellent group and this is my first post so your patience will be greatly appreciated. You say the Indian govt. is pretty corrupt and our authorities are not doing too much to help. Well how about reaching into the past for an idea? In the old days a government might summon up a navy on the cheap by issuing Letters of Marque and Reprisal. In fact it is even in our Constitution: Article 1, Section 8; The Congress shall have the power… To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water.
Why not have the feds halfway behind us? I don't know if it would still be possible. But it would seem to me that having something like that in our pocket would be the equivalent of being deputized. Quid vobis videtur? Might that be a worthwhile idea?
